Building Project

We are in the process of making much needed improvements to our building to help us better serve our community.

Description of the Project

The building is currently unfit for purpose and requires refurbishment to comply with health & safety and equalities standards and to meet the growing needs of the local community. We have commissioned Fouin and Bell architects to draw up plans (see below) to make better use of the space we have and this has been divided into several phases:

  • Phase One: Build a functional office and two multi-purpose rooms above the current kitchen/toilet block.

  • Phase Two: Install a stairway in the small meeting room to access the extension and floor the space above the current lounge to provide community use room.

  • Phase Three: Install a new purpose-built kitchen in the current lounge space and convert the existing kitchen/toilets area into a modern nine stall toilet block.

  • Phase Four: Level the floor throughout the church building to allow easier access and movement through the building.

Because of the age of the building, there is also need for pointing of stonework and replacement of windows.

The Need For the Project

To provide facilities for a more holistic and inclusive family and community space reducing isolation and providing support for local vulnerable families. There is a need for support and company for young parents. There is a need for young people to build relationships and have opportunity to discuss issues including those related to mental health.

The Aim of the Project

To upgrade our building and facilities to fulfil our vision to deliver Christian mission in an intentional and purposeful way and continue to make a positive impact on our community.

Current Status of the Project

Work on Phase One is mostly completed and we now have access to our building. We are entering the fundraising stage for Phase Two.
